Deathless

Deathless is a multidisciplinary initiative established by Ramz in 2005. Ramz is a composer, experimental musician, producer, sound engineer, and instrument creator. The music of Deathless is frequently characterised as dark, intense, and haunting, featuring apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic themes. The project emphasizes the utilisation of minimal chord progressions and intricate effects processing within its repetitive soundscape, which encompasses slow-developing drones and noise, as well as dark ambient and post-psychedelic elements. Occasionally, percussive sounds and minimal techno are also incorporated into the compositions.

The instruments used in Deathless vary, from guitars to synthesizers, including self-built instruments, guitar pedals, circuit bending, vintage synths, and modular synthesizers.

Ramz’s approach to live performances is frequently characterised by improvisation, fostering unique experiences through spontaneous collaborations with fellow artists and active engagement with the environment, including the audience.

In 2024, Deathless established RohElok, a collaborative ensemble with Baséput that combines narrative, performance, music, and education, incorporating elements of cultural, ethnomusicological, and electronic music. Additionally, Deathless is in the process of preparing the highly anticipated album “Noir.”
